With the increasing growth of hackers trying to steal, change, or destroy online information comes a parallel growth in the need for professionals in the rapidly developing field of cybersecurity trying to stop them.
Seattle Pacific University will host a networking and panel discussion on Wednesday, May 22, where women interested in cybersecurity careers can connect with female cybersecurity experts working in academia, research, and industry. Katya Drozdova, SPU associate professor of political science and an expert on cyberpower, international relations, cybersecurity, foreign policy, counterterrorism, and U.S. national and global security will lead the discussion. SPU’s School of Business, Government, and Economics offers an emphasis in cybersecurity in the MBA, MS-IS, and MAM programs, giving students a comprehensive understanding of how to identify and manage risk, training them to assess and mitigate an organization’s specific vulnerabilities in order to protect the integrity, security, and confidentiality of its digital assets.
